Here’s a little more about Matt…

A connoisseur of customer service and our chief problem solver, Matt founded The Buy to Let Broker back in 2013 from his home – armed only with a clunky laptop, a rudimentary website, a desk phone, and the desire to help landlords get the best mortgage with honest, straightforward advice.

With over two decades of expertise in the financial sector, Matt brought unwavering tenacity and an entrepreneurial mindset to everything he did. It was this pioneering vision, built on integrity, passion, and drive, that saw him transform a small attic office into the foundations of a company that would go on to change the face of mortgage advice. Very early on, he joined forces with Matthew, and together they built something truly remarkable.

Fast forward over ten years and two major office upgrades, The Buy to Let Broker is now a powerhouse of mortgage expertise with a 20+ strong team of specialists. Much of this success is owed to Matt’s tireless commitment and leadership. Under his guidance, the company earned numerous industry accolades, gained a loyal base of clients, and won the full respect of its peers.

Matt was at his happiest when solving challenges for clients and pushing boundaries for both the team and the business. He was never one to shy away from a problem, and his influence was felt across every aspect of the company—from strategy and marketing to recruitment and service delivery.

Ever the innovator, Matt embraced technology to enhance and evolve the company’s human-first approach. Yet, no matter how far the tech progressed, he remained steadfast in his belief that relationships were the heart of the business—and that ethos continues to shape the firm today.

Matt was also deeply passionate about giving back. His enthusiasm for charitable work was infectious, and he continually inspired the team to support causes close to their hearts, both within and outside the company.

Outside of work, Matt found joy in the simple things—spending time with his two beautiful daughters, enjoying the outdoors with his beloved Boxer Bruno, mountain biking, and sharing a well-earned Guinness or a (not always entirely friendly) game of pool with Matthew.

Matt sadly passed away in May 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. His loss is felt profoundly by all who knew him—family, friends, colleagues, and clients alike. But his legacy lives on: in the thriving business he built, in the countless lives he touched, and in the spirit of integrity, dedication, and kindness that continues to guide The Buy to Let Broker every day.
