Official Charity Work
In 2019, the team took on the mighty challenge of raising £3,000 for local heart screening charity Vital Signs Foundation with a mammoth UK challenge that saw us virtually running to some of the UK’s biggest Mortgage Lenders.
As a true whole of market broker, we work closely with all of the UK’s biggest mortgage lenders on a daily basis, so for our first ever official charity challenge, the team decided to walk and cycle 1000 miles to circumvent the UK to virtually visit over 16 of our top partners.
The whole Buy to Let Broker team took the challenge in their stride and really stepped up to the plate, plus there were some special guests along the way. We have to say a big thank you to all of the lenders including Paragon, Zephyr Home Loans, Santander, Foundation Home Loans, Masthaven, Precise Mortgages, Landbay, Barclays, BM Solutions and The Mortgage Lender that helped us smashed our 1000 mile target.
Not only did we hit our running target, the team successfully raised the £3,000 needed to fully fund a VSF screening session and on the 18th January over 95 young people between the ages of 16-35, including some members of the team, received blood pressure tests, heart scans as well as life-saving education in CPR and defibrillators.
It was a brilliant day all-round and we are over the moon to support such an incredible charity. Shockingly 12 young people die every week due to an undiagnosed heart condition, so the work that VSF do really does save lives.
More About The Charity
Vital Signs Foundation is an incredible charity that provides FREE heart screening events to help reduce Sudden Cardiac Arrest in young people aged 16-35.
Based in Liscard, the charity was launched back in 2006 after the sudden death of Christopher Haw, a much-loved 25-year old who suffered a fatal Sudden Cardiac Arrest due to an undiagnosed heart condition.
Set up in Chris’s memory, Vital Signs Foundation is now on a mission to provide quick and easy screenings for young people across the North West. In just a few short years, the charity has grown significantly and now organises 10 screenings a year and has already helped over 2,700 young people.
This is a cause that we massively believe in and we are extremely proud to have VSF as our first official charity. We will be continuing to support the team how ever we can to help more young people and prevent other families from unexpected bereavement.
